In recent days, cities across the United States have witnessed a surge of popular protests urging the government to refrain from joining Israel’s escalating war against Iran. From San José to Milwaukee and New York, activists and ordinary citizens have taken to the streets, voicing strong opposition to U.S. military involvement and calling for a redirection of resources toward social programs.
On Tuesday, dozens gathered in San José, California’s third-largest city, holding Iranian flags and signs reading “Hands Off Iran.” Organized by the Peace and Justice Organization of San José, the protest highlighted demands for local leaders to pressure the federal government to cut military spending and increase funding for essential social services.
A member of the organization’s board emphasized, “Our communities need schools, healthcare, and housing—not endless wars funded by our taxes.”
Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest city, saw hundreds rally under the slogan “Don’t Mess with Iran,” with demonstrators demanding a U.S. arms embargo on Israel to halt its aggressive military actions.

Meanwhile, in New York City, peace activists from the Bronx rallied in solidarity with Iran, waving flags and holding banners condemning apartheid and genocide, calling for justice and respect for international law.
A smaller but significant protest took place on June 13 outside the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York, where participants displayed signs proclaiming “Support Iran” and denounced imperialist aggression.
The anti-war sentiment is not confined to the U.S. Thousands marched in London on Saturday with banners reading “Stop Bombing Iran – Stop Arming Israel,” demonstrating a growing global movement against Western militarism and interventionism in the Middle East.
